Custom ADA Signs
The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1992 has made major changes in the way building signs are made, specified and designed. Nearly every building is required to include signs that are accessible to people with visual disabilities.

regulations
include:
- Signs must have a matte or non-glare finish
- Letter to background contrast of 70%
- Characters are to be between 5/8" and 2" in height.
- Letters
to be sans serif or simple serif type and be all upper case and must be accompanied by grade 2 Braille.
- Characters are raised
a minimum of 1/32" from background.
- Pictograms when used must be within their own 6" x 6" field.
- Signs are to be mounted on the
latch side of door and are to be 60" from center line of sign to finished floor.
